TRAININGS & WORKSHOPS   |   CURRICULUM WRITING   |   MATERIALS

Learning is heroic

I’ve been designing and leading trainings in education and workplace
contexts over 15 years, and exclusively in racial justice and equity topics since 2017.
My mission is to work with other white people on re-imagining their place in our national narrative and joining the urgent journey toward liberation.

I draw on my own journey of awakening to the reality of systemic racism to help others do the same. I hope that doing so as a straight, white, cisgender man enables me to model the humility, service, and truth-telling that are needed for this transformation.

I also consult on curriculum development and communications for antiracism education organizations and projects.

I am currently a regular facilitator of racial justice workshops with two organizations:

  • With White People Challenging Racism, I co-facilitate a 10-hour workshop that moves participants through awareness, practice, and planning for action against racism in their sphere of influence. I also serve on the leadership circle, and led a curriculum and syllabus revision process that established core content for all co-facilitators.

  • With Fletcher Consulting, I serve as an associate facilitator of Navigating Unconscious Bias, a 3.5-hour introductory workshop for non-profit institutions and companies

Colin is a skilled facilitator who expresses deep empathy, compassion, and understanding in striving to be antiracist. He is supportive and collaborative in creating and planning curriculum.
